Maker Park Radio, a non-profit community streaming station in Stapleton, Staten Island, recently marked its seventh anniversary with a vibrant Music & Arts Fest at Maker Park. The event, which attracted over 400 attendees, featured captivating performances, unique vendor offerings, and a celebration of the station's integral role in supporting the borough's thriving arts and cultural communities.

Unleashing the Creative Spirit of Staten Island

A Diverse Musical Showcase

The Maker Park Radio 7th Anniversary Music & Arts Fest was a testament to the station's commitment to showcasing the diverse musical talents of New York City. The event featured electrifying performances by bands such as Grandma Drinks, Modern Day Machines, King Like Mom, PONS, Lip Critic, and A Place to Bury Strangers, each bringing their unique sound and energy to the stage. The audience was captivated by the dynamic range of genres, from indie rock to experimental noise, highlighting the station's dedication to amplifying the incredible musical landscape of Staten Island.

Captivating Sideshows and Interactive Experiences

In addition to the musical performances, the event also featured a captivating sideshow act by Albert Cadabra, known for his work at Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Six Flags' Fright Fest. Cadabra's straight jacket escape act mesmerized the audience, showcasing the station's commitment to providing a well-rounded entertainment experience. The event also featured a diverse array of local vendors, offering everything from locally sourced honey to live printmaking and a photo booth, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the vibrant arts and culture of the community.

A Culinary Celebration

Complementing the musical and artistic offerings, the Maker Park Radio 7th Anniversary Music & Arts Fest also catered to the taste buds of attendees. Local food and beverage vendors, including Seppe Pizza Bar, The Burrito Bar, and local breweries Killsboro and Flagship, provided a delectable array of culinary delights, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere and fostering a sense of community among the attendees.

Upcoming Festivities

The Maker Park Radio 7th Anniversary Music & Arts Fest was just the beginning of the station's ongoing efforts to celebrate and support the arts and music scene on Staten Island. The next event, scheduled for August 3, will feature a Funk and Soul-inspired show with performances by Lee Fields, Snacktime & The Jazztronauts, promising to continue the station's tradition of curating diverse and engaging musical experiences for the community.
