Wade Marshall, a native of Shreveport and a graduate of Centenary College with a background in music composition, has taken on the role of Film & Entertainment Commissioner. His mission is to foster the growth of the film and entertainment sectors, create job opportunities, and stimulate economic development. Marshall’s efforts aim to position Shreveport-Bossier as a premier destination for both filmmakers and tourists. He emphasizes the importance of collaboration and unity within the community to achieve collective success.
Marshall returned to Shreveport in 2007 after a successful career in Los Angeles, inspired by the burgeoning film industry following Hurricane Katrina. Since then, he has been instrumental in bringing numerous film projects to the area. As the commissioner, he works closely with Visit Shreveport-Bossier to establish a robust Film and Entertainment Commission. In 2024, he achieved significant milestones in this endeavor and looks forward to expanding the region’s offerings with new attractions and high-paying careers. Marshall believes that the time has come for Shreveport-Bossier to embark on a new chapter of prosperity and unity, where everyone contributes to building a proud and thriving community.

Rodrigo Mondragon, originally from Mexico City, has made a mark in Shreveport-Bossier through his passion for authentic Mexican cuisine. As the owner and chef of Ki’ Mexico, he has introduced unique flavors to the local palate, enriching the culinary scene. Despite being surprised by his recognition as a community leader, Mondragon takes pride in setting an example for others. He is enthusiastic about celebrating the restaurant’s 10th anniversary in 2025 and expanding his business with additional locations.
Mondragon’s love for cooking began at a young age, inspired by watching his mother prepare meals. Along with his brother and mother, he opened Ki’ Mexico in Shreveport, offering a trendy dining experience that reflects their shared culinary heritage. His advice to the community is to trust their instincts when pursuing ideas and to embrace the world with an open mind.
